Fertilizers that are applied in the summer should be low nitrogen that reintroduce nutrients into the soil so the lawn can maintain healthy growth throughout the summer months.
Too much nitrogen at this time, and the microbes in the soil can’t break it down and the excess nitrogen often dry’s out grass blades and causes a burned look on the lawn, often know as fertilizer burn.
In Summer growth will slow, colour may fade, and lawns will show signs of wear and tear as they are less able to recover from stress and traffic.
Iron will help to ‘green up’ the lawn and magnesium makes photosynthesis more efficient, turning more sunlight to energy & making the grass more green and lush, use of nitrogen must be slow release to reduce the risk of burn scorching
